Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)Laboratory procedures

How do I know if an analysis is accredited by CheMa Laboratories?

The test report issued by CheMa Laboratories after the end of the analyses, may bear the logo of the HAS, which is the national accreditation body in Greece. Any analysis carried out after outsourcing to a sub-contracted laboratory is indicated in the test report. The HAS logo can only be used if at least one analysis method mentioned in the test report is accredited by CheMa Laboratories. Unaccredited methods are marked with an asterisk (*). The accreditation certificate and the scope of CheMa Laboratories can be downloaded from here or only the scope from the HAS website here.

If the test report does not have an H.A.S logo, is the analysis necessarily non-accredited?

No. If an analytical method is outsourced to a subcontracted laboratory, the test report cannot bear the ESYD logo, since the method is not accredited by CheMa Laboratories and is outside their scope of accreditation. But if the analysis method is accredited in the subcontracted laboratory, it is noted in the test report as follows: “The analysis was carried out in a subcontracted laboratory and is within the scope of its accreditation”.

Is the accreditation of CheMa Laboratories valid only in Greece or also abroad?

The accreditation of the laboratory according to ISO 17025 has global validity. The laboratory is accredited in Greece by HAS, which, since it is a member of ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation), is recognized worldwide. In the test reports issued by CheMa Laboratories, next to the ESYD logo there is also that of ILAC, for their global recognition.
